Join this webinar to explore the realities of intimate image abuse and the support available to those affected. The session aims to provide greater insight into both the experiences of victim-survivors and the ongoing need for awareness, support, and informed responses to online abuse.
The session will begin with an overview of key findings from the research project: “Remote Realities: Exploring Online Harm and Abuse in the Context of Rural Scottish Women.” It will touch on how location, isolation, community visibility, and limited access to services can create additional barriers for women in rural areas experiencing intimate image abuse.
This will be followed by an overview of the work of the Revenge Porn Helpline, including the practical support offered to those experiencing the non-consensual sharing of intimate images, threats to share content, and other forms of technology-facilitated abuse. Drawing from frontline experience, the webinar will highlight some of the common challenges faced by individuals seeking support and the importance of accessible, trauma-informed services.
