Last week we launched our Adult Support and Protection Learning and Improvement Programme work to understand what ASP self-evaluation looks like in Scotland. We welcomed practitioners from across Scotland, with different roles and from different agencies and practice backgrounds; to hear from Scottish Government about the programme background; to listen to the experience of self-evaluation in one partnership; and to get an idea of what it’s like to work with us on a project like this.

Ultimately, this work aims to support multi-agency local partnerships to undertake robust self evaluation within ASP, informing local and national improvement. To do that, we want to add to other work in the space, and use this programme to build a national picture of self evaluation across the 32 local authorities. We kicked off our launch with participants sharing a range of descriptions on the maturity of their self evaluation locally; and we can see that it can look quite different depending where you are.

We look forward to digging into the detail of these range of experiences over the weeks and months to come. To do this, we need to hear from local partnerships about how they approach self evaluation; what works well; and what stands in the way. No matter how developed your self-evaluation is, we want to talk to anyone in a partnership best placed to share about local multi-agency ASP self evaluation; and have your experiences drive the direction of this work.

How?

Complete a short survey!
You will help us build and share knowledge about self evaluation, contributing to national learning and enhancing the support and tools available for self-evaluation activities. We know time is tight; workloads are high; demands are many. We’ve designed the survey with this in mind, so there is space for you to develop your answers, or keep it brief with selecting answers or ticking a box. This survey is for anyone best placed to talk about multi-agency self-evaluation. Any job role and any level of comfort or familiarity with the self-evaluation process is welcome.

Talk to us!
Sharing with us might be easier over a conversation; so sign up to talk with us at a facilitated online session on:
Tuesday 20th October, 10am-11.30am
Thursday 22nd October, 2pm-3.30pm
Tuesday 10th November, 2pm-3.30pm
Thursday 12th November, 10am-11.30am
Tuesday 24th November, 2pm-3.30pm
Let us know if none of these dates work for you, and we can arrange a time with you directly.

Among attendees at last week’s launch, there was a clear appetite to share their own knowledge and practise, as well as hear from other partnerships about what they do. So in return for taking part in this work, we’ll give spaces that allow this kind of knowledge exchange, with time to get into the details. We’ll close learning loops; we’ll listen to what learning feels important to partnerships, and share what we know with you in the sector – making sure knowledge gets to where it is best put to use.

We look forward to working with you!
