iamsocialwork, is a concept that was created by Zoë Betts in 2012, as a newly qualified social worker. It started out as a small, local event in London and has grown into a series of UK-wide events, which offer opportunities for student, recently qualified and qualified social workers to come together to strengthen professional links, peer networks and practice.
An iamsocialwork event is being held in Glasgow on Wednesday, 14 September (6-9.30pm) and we invite you to sign up and come along on the evening. Iriss is delighted to be running a workshop (on our View from Here project) as part of the event. We recognise the value of bringing student, newly qualified and qualified social workers together to build peer support networks and share stories from practice.
As Zoe has set this initiative up on her own with little funding support, there is a fee to attend. When you register, add IRISS in to the promo box to get 10% off. We look forward to seeing you then.
